Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Here's my confession...I never decorated DS's nursery

We didn't know what we were having so we were waiting to pick a theme until after the birth. But then I just didn't care to decorate the room for a baby since I knew his tastes/needs would change as he grew.

We'll probably do a "Red Sox" theme when he's older, but for now, it's plain and I don't care.Big Smile

Anyone else?

Re: Here's my confession...I never decorated DS's nursery

  • We decorated it but it's complete chaos since he's never used it.  Actually, we moved his crib into our room today since he's to active for his co-sleeper (can pull himself up and out of it if he wants to).  I feel bad since my DH did so much work on it and he probably won't ever use it (we're trying to move).

  • I'm calling ACS....where's that number....
  • My nursery confession is that we bought cheap furniture because I knew we were probably only having one kid and he'd only use it for two or three years. I wanted to save the money and buy him some really nice "big boy" furniture that he'll have the rest of his life and I didn't want it to have to be centered around some convertible changing table design.

Seriously. My poor child. I'm sure this will come up in therapy when he's older.

  • We haven't either!  I keep meaning too!

  • Same here!  I bought some things to hang on the walls but never bothered with putting them up.  I barely find time to do necessities since my son is bit of handful because of his bad napping/sleeping habits.  The only time we're in his room is to change and dress him.  I'm sure my son doesn't care that his room isn't a particular theme.

  • I am not in the same situation, but just wanted to say that I am so jealous of your Red Sox room! I wanted to do DS's big boy room in a Red Sox theme, but DH said (and I quote) "We are not coercing DS into being a Red Sox fan. He can decide which sports team he likes when he is older".

Now tell me this, how many of us are hometown sports team fans because we chose to support them all by ourselves? I am a die hard Red Sox fan because my Dad always watched the game growing up! <sigh>
