Gymboree alternatives?

Hey Ladies-

DH and DS just had a great time at a Gymboree class, but we can't afford $70/month for one 45-minute class a week. What are some independant places I could check out?

I do a class at our local library, which is free! It runs for 8 weeks and we sing songs and the librarian reads a short story.

The Y usually has some great classes

If you live close to an Isis Maternity they have $5 drop in playgroups. I know in our neighborhood 2 bookstores do readings and one toystore has a banjo player.
