Need Toddler Snack Ideas

We send Avery with a breakfast snack, lunch and afternoon snack daily.  I feel like we are always sending the same thing - fruit for the snacks and a regular lunch.  Does anyone have any other ideas of some not so messy snacks (she loves yogurt, applesauce, etc. but is such a messy eater)?

  • i give truitt these barbara's fruit and yogurt bars. you can get them in the nat foods section at kroger. they are packed with vitamins- it's like a multivitamin in food form. no kidding.

other than that, i give him fruit but change it up- apple chunks one day, melon another, grapes another.

cheese would be good if A eats it. turtle does not... crackers- T loves wheat thins (weirdo) or goldfish.

  • adding cheerios & dried fruit mixed, peas, and Earths Best or Kashi cereal bars to the list
  • granola bars? the "healthy" chewy ones (if there is such a thing)....lol.  Cheese sticks?  Or Cheese with crackers?

  • She has turned into a little cheese freak over the last couple of weeks.

I am going to have to try some of this out.  I don't want her to go on a fruit boycot because she is tired of it.

  • Does she eat meat? ?Orion loves summer sausage. ?
  • HEB sells freeze dried fruits & vegitables in natural section.  Kian is a big fan of "Just Peas".  He asked for a cookie the other day and I pulled out the Just Peas.  He completely changed his mind and ran around yelling Peeeaaas!  Our new daycare doesn't have access to a microwave so I'm running out of cold food ideas to pack.
  • We're in a major rut. ?If I send too much fruit, his tummy gets upset. ?I alway send grapes, string cheese, goldfish or kashi crackers, toast w/ cream cheese. ?Also bfast bars from health section, cant think of brand, but no hfcs. ?Sometimes send steamed carrots if hes been in a "will eat anything" week. ?I'd love to send yogurt, but think its too messy like you said. ??
  • we do the drinkable yogurts for less mess. also pb&j crackers, cinnamon toast, graham crackers.

and Addie gets fruit everyday too, I don't think they get tired of that. for her MDO lunches she gets, fruit, cheese or pb&j, drinkable yogurt and something "sweet" like a graham cracker.

  • We do animal crackers, cheese and Nutrigrain bars most often. I'll also make blueberry or banana muffins on the weekends and use those for weekday snacks. Connor loves them and he's getting some fruit that way too.
