Should I be giving DS rice cereal 2 times a day? For the past 3 days I have been giving him 1 Tbls in the morning and none at night. I think that I want to start giving him "dinner" too.
What do you do? After how long did you add veggies or fruit?
we just started giving DS solids consistently this past week. I do 1tbsp of cereal and add 1/2 container of the gerber first foods applesauce. He likes it. We are going to wait a few weeks before adding a veggie.

We started giving DS cereal just at night for a week. Then we started giving him some in the morning. We are now on the 2 times a day schedule with 2 tblsp at each feeding. We also just introduced a veggie about 3 days ago and we do that in the morning!
We had been giving DS 4 tblspns of cereal at night (started with 1 and worked up to 4). Then once we intro. fruits and veggies, we started adding fruit in (1/2 container) b/c he likes it more that way. He just eats so much nicer when the fruit is mixed in.
Last week I alsos started giving him cereal in the morning b/c it seemed like he would fight taking a bottle, even if it had been 4 or more hours since he last ate.
So, right now he gets cereal 2x's a day- morning and night. Again, we give him 4 tblspns with 1/2 container of fruit mixed in.
Re: Cereal for a 5 month old?
Not yet but I have a feeling at my next pedi appointment at 4 months she's going to tell me to start him on cereal. DS eats much more than 32oz.
I'm not sure about solids, I'll definitely be asking my pedi about that one.
