I am starting Clomid 50mg....it sounds as though if it doesn't work and it is confirmed via u/s and b/w..the RE will go right into 100mg. So, it would likely be 10 days after my last Clomid pill. Is that normal to have b2b Clomid cycles like that?
I've done b2b clomid cycles...three of them but I ovulated on them fine. But the way your question is asked it sounds like you're asking if you will have 2 rounds of clomid in 1 cycle? That I have never heard of. Maybe we're assuming when you say its not successful you mean you don't ovulate? Or do you mean if you don't get pregnant?
I have never heard of that. After it was evident I did not/would not O, I started provera to get AF and started a new cycle on a higher dose.
Hmm..I could be wrong. I havent had AF since Aug (and that was chemically induced). I didnt respond to Prometrium in Jan. Went to RE and she isnt even trying Provera/Progesterone...she is jumping right to clomid. I dont even know that I would get AF after Provera between Clomid cycles...

That's what I read it as. Going from 50-100 without an af in between (assuming no O). I think by not successful=No O.

Also, it can take longer to O on clomid. For instance, the two times I O'd on clomid was 12 days after my last pill the first time and 10 days after my last pill the second time. I guess your doc means that if she sees you have nothing by 10 days after then she will add the 100mg in? I've never heard it done that way but maybe since you don't respond to provera/prometrium that is her thinking. And if you have no response, adding the 100 in shouldn't make you overstimulate or anything. It seems odd, but only b/c I have never heard it done that way.

Yep, if you O, you'll get AF on your own. And then you can start another cycle of clomid! (but hopefully you won't need it). Doing clomid back to back is fine. All 6 of my rounds were back to back.

I did 2 cycles of 50mg and found out that they didn't work so I was given 100mg. But this wasn't back to back. If a cycle didn't work we'd wait to get af and then we would cycle again.

the first time i tried clomid (50mg) I did not ovulate. Once that was confirmed with u/s & b/w, i was given provera to get AF. Although provera had worked for me in the past, that time, I did not get AF. So I went in for b/w and u/s again, and the RE told me that it was not necessary for me to always get AF in between cycles (although that depends on a lot of individual factors). The RE let me start 100mg of clomid that night. So I guess back to back cycles are fine depending on the case. GL!

Sorry! Thats what I mean. If I go in for my u/s and b/w and they see nothing...and my p4 suggests I didn't O...would they start Clomid right away?
If I do O....I guess I would have AF on my own??
