Perhaps I've lost my mind but I think we'll be taking DD to Thailand next month. She's a good traveler and has already used her passport but the longest flight segment she's been on has been 4 hours. Any suggestions for the LONG direct flight from Houston to Tokyo? She's very active and a total runner...
Re: Toddler on a LONG flight - what to do?
Hi Ann, how are you girlie?
When we went to Australia last year it helped that the flight left at 10 p.m.....way past his bed time (at that time), so that's a start. He literally slept on me for 12+ hours. He did not want to sleep in the bulk head that so many other babies did
Now that they are into television/movies, that might help a great deal. I seriously tried to keep him as contained as possible. I really didn't go walking up and down the aisles with him like I should/could have. I was afraid he would find a friend and wouldn't want to go back to our seats...lol.
i can ask my Aussie friends. they went back and forth with their 2 year old (!!!) for Christmas.
i will say, the best thing we had on our last flight with truitt was stickers. i let him stick them inside the inflight magazine and skymall in addition to the pad i brought with us. that occupied him for almost the whole 4 hours, so that will at least carve out a chunk of time for you guys
Thanks for all the suggestions - keep 'em coming!
Sadly, she has zero interest in any tv or video.
