Can I have a break for one day?

Please? Just one.

DS is in a mommy-only phase. He won't let DH near him. And it SUCKS. I feel bad for DH and I get tired of being the only one who can soothe him at night if he wakes up (I'm freaking exhausted- he's sick and has been waking once or twice a night most nights- I'm just not used to getting up in the middle of the night any more), who can read to him (we read about 20 books yesterday), who can rock him before bed. I need a break.

DS is also way overly emotional right now. Every little thing makes him burst into tears. I'm at the end of my rope.

Add into all of this the fact that he will no longer eat pea soup or broccoli soup, which were pretty much his only source of vegetables before, and I'm so stressed out I just want to sob.

*sigh* I love him. I do. And I was good all weekend until last night. I've just reached my limit for right now. I wish we lived near my parents right now so they could take him for the evening.

  • My dd is the same way and she's 3.  She's always been like this with mommy only.  I hear ya.
  • Loading the player...
  • It's hard.  Really, really hard.  Benjamin goes through stages, and it's so hard.  Our current stage is waking up at night, and insisting on sleeping in "mommy's bed."

As for the food, just do your best, and he'll be fine.  Benjamin eats a ton of fruit, but very little veggies.

You're doing great!  Sneak out for a movie by yourself this weekend...I plan to see He's just not into you on Saturday or Sunday, since DH has biz-trips the entire next week.

  • DD1 WAS like this, before DD2.  It's hard, I know.  Hang in there.  If I were there, I'd help ya out!

  • I feel the exact same way!
  • OMG your sig pics are beautiful!

It's so tough when they are in those stages. Hopefully it will be shortlived. When Gina gets like that, I give my H special things like fruit snacks to bribe her to love him :)

  • Aw, thanks REOM!

Yeah, DH finally tempted DS by offering to read RIchard Scarry's Busy Busy Town to him. That gave me about 10 minutes. :) Now DS is playing by himself and soon he'll be in bed. I think I'm going to bed early tonight.
