soooo, Finn has needed a hair cut for a while now and DH has been all "I don't want to pay $20 to get his haircut, you should do it" and I've been all "I don't know how to effing cut hair!". Anyway, ILs were in town this past weekend and MIL used to cut their hair when they were little and she still cuts FILs hair (what's left of it anyway) and the subject came up and she said "I've got my hair cutting scissors with me, I can help" so I figured sure. Finn was totally good when we got his hair cut at the shop the first time and I figured its MIL, he loves Mama, this will be a breeze.
WRONG
Finn first laughed for a while cuz she was "tickling" him then he just started crying....almost like he could feel the hair being cut and it was hurting him or something. OMG. Then the wailing began and he was all over the place but she was able to cut as long as he could cling on to me for dear life.
and then.....she cut his ear. OMG Blood EVERYWHERE, gushing out, he is SCREAMING, MIL is SOBBING because she is so upset that she hurt her grandbaby, there is hair and blood everywhere and Finn and grandma are crying.
holy hell. so worth $20.
Re: Home hair cut gone terrribly wrong
OMG that is terrible! I hope he has recovered from the trauma. I agree it's really worth the $20. I bet your dh will never protest that again!
How are you? Deuce still hanging out in there. I think he/she must have been scared to come out b/c of all the crying/screaming! LOL.

Oh gosh, see now this is why I won't let DH cut LL's hair. I think I'm going to have to tell him about this story because he keeps saying how it is ridiculous to pay for a toddler haircut. Men just don't seem to understand things like this.
Besides, he cut his own hair once and it wasn't pretty, although he does a great job on Rascal.
