2nd Trimester

Those nearing end of 2nd tri...

has anyone experienced any dizziness with fast heartbeat lately?  Sat and this morning, while sitting both times, my heartbeat has sped up and I have gotten dizzy and a little nauseous.  I got good sleep and ate a good breakfast both days so I wonder if it is just normal blood pressure fluctuactions or something.  I have a call into Dr. but not sure if she'll call back today.  Just wondered if anyone has seen this happen lately.  Also been pretty tired this past week but I think that's par for the course around now.  Ah, the joys...

  • I do get kind of dizzy / hot in church and I think that is because we stand sit and kneel so much.  I have not experienced dizziness with a fast heartbeat though.

  • I'm not nearing the end.. got a couple of weeks left but I had this problem about a week and a half ago. I started getting chest pains with it also and ended up in the ER. I was told that if you get short of breath and your heartrate doesn't slow down/ease up some within 15-30 seconds that you need to go to the ER. If it doesn't last but just for a few seconds and then your fine it is probably normal but mine was lasting for about 3 hours. Hopefully everything is ok!
  • I am not getting dizzy but I am getting fast heartbeats (usually when I lay down on the couch - right after work) - it doesn't last long but I am going to ask my doctor about it tomorrow - I am also on Thyroid medicine so I don't know if that has anythign to do with it..

  • I am not even close to the end of my 2nd tri and recently my heart has beating really fast. I was going to  talk to my doctor about it when I see her next week.
  • obviously i am not near the end of 2nd tri, but i had this happen to me a couple of weeks ago, and it turns out i have heart arrhythmias, and they have had to watch mine. you should call your dr and see what they say.
  • I feel that way when I'm dehydrated, or nearing dehydration.  I think it's my body's way of saying, "YO!  WATER!  I can't keep up!"
  • Yep. For me it's just BP fluctuations. Our hearts are pumping alot more blood than usual through our bodies, that's all. If it gets worse though, tlak to your doc.
  • ive been getting dizziness alot. my physical therapist had a fit when she found out i hadnt seen my reg doc so she sent me to my doc. i found out that i had the stomach flu and was dehydrated from it. my doc told me to incress the amount of fluids i was taking in and rest w/ my feet up. doc said if it didnt go away to go to the er to be put on an iv. you might want to call your doc to make sure ur not dehydrated.

  • Sounds pretty familiar to me, happens all the time.  At first my Dr. told me it was just blood pressure issues, but this time when I brought it up again she added a check of thyroid levels to my next set of blood tests.  Hoping it's nothing, but better safe than sorry I guess.

  • I tend to get dizzy a lot lately, mostly when I'm out and about and walking. I start to black out a little and feel like I'm going to pass out if I don't sit down ASAP. I talked to my OB about this the other day and she said it's pretty normal and just to make sure I'm drinking more water because I could just be dehydrated. Hope you feel better!
