duke'sgirl (Rebekah) BEANCOUNTR76 cmwbobo (Colleen)   If you are thinking about asking to join this group?please read: This is an Advanced TTTC group those who have been trying 3+ years and/or have multiple failed IVFs, etc. I just ask that everyone please use good judgement when asking to join...in other words, if you are still in the IUI stage or have been on this journey less than two years, this is probably not the group for you.

There is no doubt that this whole TTTC process is painful, but I also do believe that there is a very special kind of support that this specific group can offer to each other, and it is intended as a "safe haven" for those of us who are in that bottom 1% of the bottom 1%.
Thank you!

Re: Advanced T-TTTC check-in

  • Friday was a big day around here:-)) I'm so excited for our 3 new BFPs!! I was so happy to move your name to the "good" list:-)

Big hugs to Krissyh on the BFN.  This crap just isn't fair.

QOTD:  My productivity goes waaay down when I am in a medicated cycle. I hope that I work so hard when I'm not cycling that it kind of averages out...but who knows. When I told my boss about IVF last April, she did comment that she had no idea I had anything so significant going on.  That made me feel better...but here I am Monday morning doing this check in before I've even really started my work day. oops:-)

UPDATE:  STILL on BCPs. Lupron starts Feb 11.

Status:  We are finally getting our referral for my new insurance.  If all goes well, we will start estrogen patches and ganirelix on Feb 15 and stims Feb 21.

QOTD:  I have no doubt it has affected my work.  Luckily I have a great boss who knows when to back off and I try to make up for it when I am not cycling but doing extra work.

  • Update: Waiting for Hysteroscopy to be scheduled. Had SHG this morning and found left over pregnancy debris in uterus. Will find out when I can cycle after Hysteroscopy.

QOTD: Yes, it has affected my work. The previous department that I worked in didn't care about what was going on. My current boss and department are very kind and considerate towards what is going on. It's great to know that someone cares about you and what you're going through. And knowing that I can take time off when needed is a huge sigh of relief. :)

  • Mind if I joing?  I just "failed" IVF#3 so I guess I'm going to sign up here  ;-)

QOTD:  To be honest, I'm not sure if it has affected my work.  Time-wise, I make up any time that I miss due to appointments.  But I know I am often off in my own little world thinking about things - whether wondering why I'm stimming so poorly, why my eggs suck, why are we having to go through this, did this work?, I'm not feeling any symptoms, oh wait - I am but it's probably due to the meds, and on and on.

And today, I am having a hard time not thinking about the BFN.  So I guess after all that rambling, I'm going to say it does affect my work.  Whether anyone notices or not, that I don't know.

  • Just got back from beta. Here we go...

Good luck to everyone else in the 2ww & congrats to the others with BFPs! ((hugs)) to krissyh21.

QOTD: It hasn't really affected my work so much, but it has affected my attitude. I really can't stand my boss or her little mini-me, so with the frustrations of IF, I just can't stand to be here dealing with stupid people, and I know that I let it show sometimes. Seriously, it is beyone me how this woman b/c president of our company. She's dumb as dirt.

  • Update: we met with our RE and will start BC for IVF as soon as my next cycle starts. ?(As a side note, isn't it ridiculous how many abbreviations you learn through all this?)

QOTD: IF definitely affects me at work. ?I work with a lot of families, and hear about a lot of pregnancies, and it gets to me after awhile. ?I'm fortunate to have a very flexible schedule which I mostly set myself, so appointments aren't that big of a deal - but my own attitude and coping skills are. ?Some days just suck. ? Others, not so bad. ??

  • Hey ladies,

Congrats to all the recent BFPs!!! They sure come in waves.  Which of course makes it sooooo much harder to get a BFN, so to Krissy - BIG hugs.

I am getting ready to head out for my mock cycle ultrasound.  I've been on vivelle patches for two weeks so hopefully my lining looks perfect!  This week I will make "first contact" with the donor coordinator to go about choosing a donor.  Dh and I have a list of five that we agree on - of course my top choices (of those) are his bottom choices and vice versa Tongue Tied but we'll see who is available and make the final choice.

As for productivity - yes, IF has greatly affected it.  Then again, so has thenest.  But, like others, I tend to make up time in unusual ways, and I just had a performance review that went great :)

  • QOTD: It hasn't really. I stopped seeing my RE last fall, and to be honest I don't know if I could have kept appts these days anyway. I got promoted in August and work has been nonstop chaos since December.

Update: We're telling MIL this weekend that we're going to adopt. I'm worried she won't react positively, but I"m curious to see what her real reaction will be.

  • I guess the update on me is that, while I'm not cycling yet, I'm not really on a break.  We've reactivated ourselves to the donor egg waitlist and will be doing a DE cycle when we're matched!

QOTD - sure, IF has impacted my work performance, but, mostly because I didn't think there'd be any chance I'd still be working in an office at this point in my life.  Our plan has always been for me to be a SAHM and run our businesses and so coming to work everyday is an added slap in my face that I don't have children.

  •

QOTD:  How has IF affected your work performance, if at all?

There are days when I've had to leave work because of IF.  I try not to do any IF-related stuff at work but on occasion, I've had the nurse call me at work to give me beta results or other info - not a good idea!

Lots of hugs to those who had BFN's this cycle - I'm so sorry.

Lots of hugs to those who had BFP's this cycle - so great to see you're moving on and hopefully, the rest of us will catch up soon!

  • Big hugs to Krissy, this cr*p isn't fair!

I don't think i/f has effected work at all. Other than having to get coverage for my apts (I am a 1 man show w/ 2 other coworkers). I'll let you know in the next couple of wks though.

U- went in for supression check this morning, waiting to hear back from md on what's next. Big box of meds arrived this morning. I don't dare open it!

  • My work performance sucks BIG TIME.  I don't think my boss has noticed, but I certainly have.

As for an update - I had my WTF after last cycle's M/C

I still don't have any concrete answers, but I didn't expect to.

I wanted to know if our frozen embryos were high enough quality to even consider a frozen transfer or if we should go straight to another fresh.  She think we should definitely do a frozen, especially considering we got pregnant off of one of those cycles - that seems to increase the chances.

She also said she wants to keep me on the Lovenox for the next cycle.  There's no clear way of knowing what happened - whether the blood thinners exacerbated the bleeding in the SCH or whether the SCH formed because of blood clots, but she thinks I have a higher chance of miscarriage without  the meds.

She's also sending us for karyoptyping in the event that the frozen transfer doesn't work and consider another fresh cycle.  There's only two hospitals in the province that our provincial health care will pay to perform the testing, so it takes about 3 months, but I we wouldn't be doing a fresh cycle any time before then anyway.

So that's about it.  Once AF decides to show up, I'll schedule a biopsy and we'll be on our way to another FET.  I never thought I'd be looking down the barrel of IVF #4!

  • Hi all.  Krissy, I'm so sorry about your BFN.  IF really sucks.

Good luck to all in your 2ww.

    No updates from me yet.

QOTD - The main effect IF has had on my work performance was leading me to this board!  Although I don't post much anymore, I am a serial lurker.

When I was going through IVF cycles, I definitely had a hard time concentrating at work.  B/c I was a poor responder, every stim check was a mini drama, and depending on how it went, I spent the rest of the day on the verge of tears or in a state of elation.  Now I'm much more calm (yet still not pregnant -- hey, I thought relaxing was supposed to make me fertile?!?).  I'm sure the drama will pick back up once we get into the adoption process, and I will be similarly unproductive (in a relative sense, since I'm still more productive than 90% of the people at my company).

  • QOTD:  IF hasn't really affected my performance overall.  There are days I am less productive but almost everything I work on has a deadline so I just have to make up the time that gets wasted.  Finding this board and trying to educate myself about the process has taken up a lot of time but it has been well worth it.  I find I have to check the board a few times a day. Even if I don't have time to post all the time, I need to see how the girls are doing.

Update: Still trying to figure out our next steps.  I just took a book out of the library on DE and trying to read up on it a little.

Congrats to the recent BFPs.  Hugs to those that need them.

  • Congrats BFPers! I hope you all never look back (but don't forget us eh?)

BIG HUGS to krissy - IF sucks so much. It just isn't fair.

Update: Still feeling the crummy effects of the misoprostol, one week later. Follow up u/s and WTF is in 9 more days - I'm a little apprehensive b/c my gut is telling me that RE is going to tell us to not do another IVF. I guess I can't do anything but wait and see!

QOTD: Not really. I work a ton of hours and quite frankly, if OT were "banked", I could easily take a year off. I do tend to work less in general during cycling, but that's planned. It helps when you own the company, that's for sure :)

    B/G twins!

  • Congrats to the new bfp's!  And Krissyh, I'm so sorry!!!

QOTD: Thankfully IF hasn't changed my work productivity.  I'm a teacher, so I really can't let myself get bogged down.  If anything, while teaching, I'm NOT thinking about IF which has been wonderful.

UPDATE: We told my parents last night about our surrogate.  All is great.  On the 20th my surrogate, her husband, my dh, and I go in for some blood work and our psychological evaluation.  ER should be end of April, beginning of May!  :-)

  • QOTD:  How has IF affected your work performance, if at all?

I teach and work is the one place I don't think about IVF. I have to be on all the time and I don't have access to a computer to check in. Although I would love to nest during the day I am glad that I am forced not to think about it at times.

    Update

I met with a new RE today and I am moving forward with IVF#4 with PGD as soon as AF arrives. I will be doing an antagonist protocol this time around and am hoping for postive results.

  • Congrats to the bfps.

    Hugs to krissyh.

QOTD: I don't really think it's effected my work performance as much as it's changed my view of people in general. Working in childcare, I see some pretty ungrateful, undeserving parents. It's also made me realize that I'd have no problem raising a child that wasn't biologically mine. As for my boss, she knows everything and is willing to accomodate my appts. and time off.  She's actually the one who suggested I take a leave for our first IVF.

Update: Still planning on March, probably the end of March. I'm super paranoid that there will be a blizzard on ER/ET and my ovaries will explode or something. Can't wait until winter is over!

I have my WTF appt in the morning, I am ready to hear something...

I have my days when my work slacks but most know and let me adjust as need be

  • Congrats to the new BFP's.  Good luck to those in the 2ww.  Hugs to Krissyh21.

Friday, I went for my Clomid check. The ultrasound showed that I had definitely ovaluated.  That was the first time I have ovaluted on my own in a long time.  Normally we have to do the trigger shot.  The doctor has saw 3 eggs in the ultrasound, so now the wait begins. Stacey, will you please move me to the 2ww.

     Good Luck ladies!
