Amoxicillin = more poops?

So my DS has been on amoxicillin for a week now and in the past 2 days he has had a serious influx of BM, not loose, but noticeably more. The nurse said it is due to the meds. Anyone else? He has an awful diaper rash as a result : (

    Oh yes, we went through that.  DS had to do a second dose of something even stronger (augmenten or something like that), and that was even worse.

    Something that I discovered today, thanks to replies to my post, is that lots of babies get a yeast infection from the antibiotics.  So, if your DS has a bumpy, very painful diaper rash way after he's done with the medicine, let your pedi know.

    DD never did, but I have heard from others their DC did have more poops! GL I hope he feels better soon!

    Mine's on amoxicillin right now and pooping more, so I'd say yes.

    Yes. This happens anytime Madelyn is on antibiotics. Give a lot of yogurt and you can also get probiotics to help keep the good bacteria in his system.
