Do you think this is a penis?

I had my big u/s yesterday. DH and I have been saying from the beginning that we want to be surprised. Lately though I've been getting really antsy about knowing. He told me that I could watch the video and analyze it as much as I wanted after the fact, but he wouldn't budge on finding out. So, I just took some screen shots and I'm having fun analyzing them. I *think* I see a penis. What do you think?

Do you have any shots from underneath, maybe when the tech was measuring the legs? Ours was very obviously a boy from that angle. Have you looked for the 3 lines for a girl?

That is most definitely a penis. The tissue is too soft to be a finger/foot/something bony, and not spongy enough to be cord. I am not an expert, but I would bet my life on it.

I'd say it's a boy. I'm not tech by any means, but I did see tons of U/S during my ob/gyn rotation, b/c they had 2 ultrasound rooms in the office.

When I first saw the picture I said...Oh yeah, that's a penis. If you analyze the picture closely you can tell that the cord is behind the penis to the left. I however am not a trained MD or ultrasound tech.

But, if you still really don't want to know and you want to be surprised....

I didn't see anything and I have no idea what sex your baby might/might now be. Big Smile

that's not the best angle - could easily be the cord in that shot- or a penis- it's hard to tell.

to make a gender guess they usually like to get a shot from the bottom of the butt with legs spread- then you either see 3 lines (girl) or twig and berries, which is what we saw with all our USs (for my son and the twins- total penis/balls shots).
