I am planning for a trip in March and was wondering which sunblocks work best and wont irritate DD's skin. Also, what do you use for a swim diaper? I have seen the rubber covers and disposables. Which works best? Do they fit under the infant swimsuits well?
I hadn't thought ahead to what we will need for warm weather until now. It just made me more anxious to get summer here already!
Re: Swimwear/sunblock questions
For a second I was going to ask if you knew something I didn't know about the Ohio weather
I'm jealous of your trip!
PS Did you get my email a few weeks back?
The few times we took DS in the water last summer, the little swimmers diapers worked well. We had a hard time finding a swimsuit to fit right. It seemed that all the suits that were in his size were huge on him. When he was wearing a 6-9 month, I ended having to buy a 3 month swim trunk for him. It was very weird.
As far a sunscreen, we use Water Babies and have had no problem. I think Aveeno baby makes one that is all natural, so maybe if you have a problem with DD's skin, give that a try.
I am so jealous of your trip. I so am ready for a warm weather vacation!

Aw, that stinks. Sometimes I think gmail does the same thing, well actually gmail usually just waits a few hours or a day to retrieve the message
I was just responding to the message you left on my post regarding childcare. If you want to try an email me, my address is jigginjessica at gmail dot com
Little Swimmers are hard to find in small sizes. I couldn't find them to fit Justin last summer to save my life. I just ended up using a regular diaper under his swimsuit and we had no troubles at all.
Also -- Justin has pretty sensitive skin and Aveeno Baby sunscreen made him break out. I will have to look and see what we ended up using instead, but it didn't work well for us. I'd also tell you to try to find something specific for Brenna's face.......regular sunscreen made Justin's eyes water and tear when we applied it to his face.

I thought DD had very sesitive skin because she was breaking out with a horrible rash...turns out it was food allergies. But my point is, I have about 3 bottles of sesitive skin types if you want to borrow them to figure out what will work best.
I have Neutragena sensitive, aveeno baby, jason's and maybe 1 or 2 more.
I don't know if I was using the wrong size, but when DD was being held and she peed, the diaper never held it.

We used Aveeno Baby sunblock (didn't irritate/never had a sunburn) and Huggies Lil Swimmers last summer. However, Kroger had Pampers Splashers on clearance this winter so I stocked up and used a couple in a hotel pool when we were OOT a few weekends back- the Pampers seemed to prevent leaks a little better as far as I can tell. It just seemed that with the Huggies brand, the pee went right through them when she was out of the water.
