1st Trimester

It doesn't feel real yet.

So, I introduced myself over here yesterday when I got my BFP.  Thanks for being so welcoming.

Anyway, it just doesn't feel real yet.  I took another test this morning, and another line.  I'm so excited.  I'm just waiting for the moment when I "feel" pregnant.  Right now, I'm just having some cramping, which I've heard is normal, but I just keep expecting AF to show.

When did it feel "real" for you?

  • Even with all of my symptoms and 2 u/s it still hasn't really sunk in yet. I think it will be more real when I hit the 2nd tri and I stop worrying as much. Plus, I'll start getting a baby bump and feel some movements.
  • With my first pregnancy, it did not feel real until I saw the baby at our first ultrasound which was 10 weeks.

This time, I am not sure! LOL

  • Agreed. ?Hanging over the trashcan in my office made it very real.

Have you officially ?missed your period yet? ?That made it even more real.?

  • Well as I was reading your post I gagged.  So that made it feel real. haha.  Today was the first day I didn't POAS since my BFP.  It feels real today for some reason.  It's possibly seeing my beta #'s and the nurse saying your pregnant did it, or maybe I'm just getting used to the idea that there is a Little Bean in my ute.  Either way I love being pregnant already!

  • Seeing the baby made it real.  On Wednesday it was moving and kicking all around while we were having the u/s.  DH said the baby is just like him!

The past two cycles were only 21 days long, so I guess so.  I've not had a cycle longer than 38 days, so maybe at that point it will feel real :)  My first appointment is Feb. 11th and I think that might do the trick...actually hearing "You are pregnant" from someone else.

Thank goodness I don't have morning sickness yet.  But I'm assuming it will be coming shortly.

  • It's weird, almost like your mind isn't letting it sink in too much so you don't worry as badly.  Even after my u/s, I still have moments where I forget, and then go "ah, right, I'm pregnant".  Maybe when I'm bigger, feel movment, start buying things for the baby, it'll become more real. I've mostly just been a bit tired and need to go to bed earlier, so symptoms don't really remind me, either.
  • It's been 2 weeks since my bfp and it still doesn't del real to me. I keep poas every few days to make sure I am still pg! I think after I have an ultrasound and see a hb I will be reassured that all is ok and it will sink in..

  • It hasn't completely sunk in with me yet either. I'm not really having any symptoms other than being tired, hungry and having to pee all the time so it doesn't seem like its happening yet. I'm sure once I start having more stronger symptoms I'll be whistling a different tune.?
  • i've seen/heard the heartbeat & it still doesn't feel real.
