1st Trimester

New to this and FULL of questions...

I'm new to the site, but I've been perusing posts for the past two weeks and was wondering if you guys could help me figure a few things out.

First, I've had a lot of trouble trying to "decode" some of the terminology on this site. What exactly is "DH" and some of the other two-letter lingo I keep seeing?! I feel so dumb for not knowing! So, I figured it was better to ask than continue to sit quietly...especially when it seems like there's a great community of wonderful women here. :-)

My next question, albeit arbitrary, is: How do I get all of those cute little "stickers" like the "Due in September" and "Autumn Baby"? I've looked all over the site and haven't been able to locate anything like that.

Also, if anyone has advice for me, as far as getting started on here, it would be much appreciated! Although I have one child already, it's been 7 years since I was last pregnant, so I've forgotten virtually everything. I'm only 7 weeks along at this point, but I'm riddled with anxieties and can't wait until my first doctor's visit next week..so I can finally have some peace of mind. I need to know that my little "cashew" is okay in there!

Thanks, everyone!!

    Thanks, everyone!!
    ?

    First, Congrats!

1-DH means Dearest Husband or Darling Husband or if things are bad Dumb Husband, lol

2-The badges you are talking about are to the right. Click on the icon, find the badge you want copy the code then go into your "My Bump" (top left)edit profile tab (i think that is what its called) ?and add (paste the code) ?into your siggy then click save.?

3-Just read a lot of post you will get the hang of things. People will/can be rude on all the bump boards not just 1st tri. Remember that is just a message board. Google things before you ask to reduce the snark. Have fun!?

  • Thank you guys, all of you, for the info! I can't believe people would be rude on here...why do you think that is? Are people generally mean when you ask a question that should be "common sense"? I've only replied to posts, so far, hoping to avoid any strange feedback. But, I figured if I ever wanted to connect with people and keep myself positive during these next 7 months, I would need to step out of my shell at some point. Thanks for the heads-up, though. I'll watch myself. :-)

No one is rude... some of us are just blunt and more sarcastic than others.  This is our "fun and be silly" time and break from the real world.  Just don't take anything personally and realize that no one is being personal to YOU even they snark about something you post.  Generally the same "dumb" questions get asked about 100 times a day that you could easily google or read in your books, so as long as you lurk a few posts down, etc you'll be fine.  Just dont' take anyone too seriously - have FUN with it and it's no big deal.
