Anyone experiencing an allergy to platinum?

It's the most bizarre thing... since about 5-6 weeks pregnant, my engagement and wedding rings have caused a type of allergic reaction. In just the area where my rings are, it's become itchy and red, and the skin is a bit flaky. I took them off for a few weeks to get some relief, but as soon as I put them back on - it started again.
I've been married for over 6 years and have never removed my rings. And this didn't happen with my previous pregnancy 5 years ago. I have a sterling silver ring on my right hand and no problems there. No problems with any other jewelry I wear either, just my platinum wedding rings.
Anyone else experiencing this?

It could be that you have a small percentage of Nickel Alloy in your rings. You should actually get this checked out by your doctor because heaven forbid you have to have an emergency C-Section and they use certain surgical closure techniques involving staples or some such thing, they often contain a small bit of nickel alloy.?
This happened to my mom who was told that the staples used for her gall bladder surgery were surgical steel. She has the Nickel Alloy allergy and for the next 1.5 was in severe pain, had to resign from her job until they went back in and removed all the steel which had trace amounts of the n.a.?
