I think snark is so un-classy. And there is absolutely no reason a person should be snarky, clever, or snappy on any sort of internet forum. I mean no one can escape internet snark and that makes it completely unacceptable. It goes right up there with sarcasm.
BTW in case someone wants to complain:
Sarcasm is a form of ironic speech or writing which is bitter or cutting, being intended to taunt its target. (credit goes to Wikipedia)
I think there's a difference between funny, kindhearted snark and mean snark.
If someone posts, "OMG I ate lunch meat did I kill my baby???" I have no problem with people responding like, "Ummm, relax, you just made your baby Oscar Meier fresh."
If it's a silly question (especially if they've eaten the thing and then are freaking out about it - because seriously if you had *that* many worries you wouldn't have wolfed it down) and people don't get personal I'm cool with snark.
Oh my you are going to have a long 9 months on this board if you don't like snark. Also, sarcasm is how I get through my day being a high school teacher. There's nothing wrong with a little sarcasm.
I agree with a previous poster about friendly snark. I get a little irritated at the personal snark, and then when people who claim not to like it start to use it it annoys me. Otherwise, I am fine with it.

Ding, ding, ding!!
90% of snark is just funny. ?It's all in good humor & not meant to be "rude" or "cruel." ?Like how I say that a light shone out of my vagina when I got pregnant....come on, that's meant to be funny. ?Being rude would be an automatic, "OMG, if you asked this question then you don't deserve to be pregnant."?
and agreed with the PP that it will be a looooong 9 months without a little sarcasm & humor.?
I didn't vote because I'm somewhere in the middle. I think these boards get too mean sometimes but I enjoy the snark as well. The ladies I feel badly for are the ones with a handful of posts and a new BFP who get jumped on. But I do understand the snarky ladies who have seen and heard all the questions.
I'm a rather serious person by nature so I generally post that way and reply in kind. But I can appreciate the humor in others.

I hate people that try to snark and fail.
