Babies on the Brain

bricks/nesticles/points/etc

from thelinkbride's bio:

Nesticles

Nesticles are only based on total number of posts. Not based on how often you post or any other factors, just total number. You can "lose" nesticles because the number of posts needed for a nesticle is always increasing as people are posting more. There are only a certain number of people who can have each number of nesticles as seen below. Since the numbers of posts are so few currently on the new local format, this can change pretty quickly. All boards are added together, including Knot and Nest posts. New local format boards have their own count currently and therefore people have different numbers of nesticles in that format. Hopefully it will be all added together when the formats are sorted out.

1 = Top 500 Poster

2 = Top 200 Poster

3 = Top 150 Poster

4 = Top 100 Poster

5 = Top 75 Poster

6 = Top 50 Poster

7 = Top 25 Poster

8 = Top 10 Poster

In the old format, you can determine your number of posts by searching your name in the Nestie Directory/Member List. You can also find out the number of posts needed for each nesticle by going to the Nestie Directory, going to the page in the directory that is equivalent to that number of people for the nesticle (20 nestie per page, so bottom of page 25 is the last person to have 1 nesticle, bottom of page 10 for 2 nesticles, etc), sort by # of posts, and order descending.

Status on the New Local Format

Status is only based on the total number of posts, not on points.

Newbie - everyone starts as a Newbie

Bronze - 501 posts

Silver - 2001 posts

Gold - 6001 posts

Platinum - 15,001 posts

Points on the New Local Format

You can get points for posting, rating posts, blogging, adding pictures to the directories, and possibly other things. It is not fully known how all points are assigned.

  • I wonder if that's the old method of getting nesticles.

    I always thought it was kind of a nest glitch- like the number of posts determined how many bricks you had but as it changed and required a higher number of posts, they just didn't take bricks away from people. I haven't seen anyone lose one yet. And SP was MIA for a while while asher posted more back when the new format was newer.

  • Well what about me?!  I am going to stomp my feet until I get one!

  • Well...maybe this helps..the way I read that is..

    Lets say you and I both have the same number of posts in total.  Maybe I got a bunch of mine in a short period of time that made me in the top 500 but then didn't post a while.  You may have posted steadily all along and be at the same total but never making the top 500 of ALL posters.

    Make sense or did I confuse everyone more?

  • I actually agree with that b/c i think if i remember correctly when i got my brick i was posting like crazy but only for a short period of time. So that makes sense to me about getting the brick even though i have less points then others!
