BTW I am currently leaning towards Violet and Alise (Alice is my grandmothers name and DH refuses so Alise would be in homage to her)
Do you like Violet Alise or Alise Violet better?
(I don't want to go with Elise because I want the spelling to be close to my grandmothers name and Alise is still and common spelling AND Elise would make initials EW and that seems mean!)
I don't care it for much but I used to have a girl crush on that actress Jordana, forgot her last name. I can *almost* like the name with that association but not enough to use it or anything.
It wouldn't be totally awful if DH's name was Jordan and we really wanted a girl version of it or something but I'm not one of those types. Otherwise, I'd be naming my daughter Wilhemina (for William). LOL
I LOVE this name! It was always on my short list before I was even married, but DH wasn't crazy about it, so we chose another name.
However, I prefer the spelling Jordanna.
Also, for your information, the name Giordanna is pronounced pretty much the same way.
On another note, another way to honor your grandmother would be with Alyssa - it's pronounced exactly like Alice-a, so there would be a sound connection as well as a pretty close visual connection. In my opinion, Alise will get misspelled constantly.

jordana is cute as long as you pronounce it "jordawna" (a sound like aunt) as opposed to "jordanna" (a sound like ant).
violet alise is my choice!
yes yes! violet alise.
Jordana- Yuck!
I like Violet Alise
Still like it but now all I can think of is the old Saturday night live character "Rosanne Rosana Dan-a".
I have no idea why.
Jordana = nms.
Violet = beautiful!
