2nd Trimester

what stroller? and why?

Trying to narrow down strollers.....would love your thoughts.

What stroller are you getting/do you have?  and why?

I am registering for the graco snugride carseat and getting the snap and go for the first few months.

Then debating about with the graco metrolite, chicco cortina and a few others.  i like the big baskets underneath.

would love to hear what the rest of you are going with?

Re: what stroller? and why?

  • We're also going with the snap and go and haven't decided on the "real" stroller yet. I think we're going to wait and decide when it's time to switch. Is that awful?

  • chicco, it seemed a lot more sturdy.

  • I should also add that i'm considering just a lighter stroller such as the maclaren....but think i would not like the tiny basket underneath
  • chicco folds wicked easy. and I like the colors :)
  • We have a Bumbleride Indie and will use it for baby #2 as well. I love it because it's great on all terrains, rolls and turns smoothly, can carry lots in the bottom basket and has an adjustable handle which is great since I'm short and DH is tall.
  • we went with the chicco because it was super easy to use with the car seat etc... and the car seat is one of the lightest ones out there... I am short so I wanted the car seat to be as light (but sturdy) as possibleSmile
  • We registered for the Chicco Cortina stoller and the Chicco Keyfit 30 Infant seat. I tried the stroller and seat in the store and really liked the way it handled.
  • we bought the Quinny Buzz 4.  We 'played' with all the strollers in BRU & BBB and just thought it handled/maneuvered the best- and it is ideal for city living and the amount of use it will get.

    it is seriously AMAZING...

  • The bugaboo Bee. My mom bought it for us.

  • I have the Graco Quattro Tour as well as the Peg Perego Pliko P3.  If I had to choose one of them, it would be the Graco.  Like you mentioned, it has a big basket underneath and it has two cupholders, two compartments (one is the perfect place to put your cell), and a good snack tray for the baby.  It folds and unfolds really easily too.  The only downside is that it's really big and takes up most of the trunk in a car.  This is why we also have the Peg Perego, it's much more compact.  The basket underneath is big, but difficult to access.
  • i went with the chicco cortina rather than a graco because the chicco folds standing up rather then the graco which folds down to the ground.  i though it would be easier if i was carrying something in my other hand to be able to fold it with one hand

  • We went with the Graco Quattro Tour because it was sturdy, and easy to use.  It was the easiest for me to fold and unfold with one hand, and it was so super easy to snap the carseat in it too!  We love it!

  • I too, am going with the graco travel system. Just makes more sense to only buy one stroller since the snap and go will only last the lenght of time that they stay in the infant seat... and then you would have to buy the stroller anyways. Just a personal preferance...
  • Bumbleride Indie.

It's similar to a travel system in that it is compatible with the Chicco Keyfit infant seat.  We can use for when baby is small and up to 45 lbs.

  • We were looking at the same ones. I really liked the Metrolite because it wasn't quite as bulky as the others.  But, I found out that the way the seat lays down is kind of awkward (it uses these straps that you have to pull to adjust--not convenient or easy to use).  I did like the Chicco but I thought it was a bit expensive & I didn't like how the car seat just sat in the stroller & didn't lock in (not a huge deal but just not ideal).  I found the Graco Stylus (https://www.babyage.com/products/7u02gao3_graco_graco_stylus_travel_system.htm) that seemed like a good compromise between the two.  It was easy to put together & although we haven't used it yet, it seems sturdy & not terribly bulky.  I also liked the simplicity of the colors (not a fan of all the patterns!).  Here's a photo:

  • Bumbleride Indie. ?& we're registering for a Maclaren, just to have something easier & more lightweight.
