So, after 6 months of marriage at 39 (me) and 42 (DH), we are finally starting the BD for the first time for both of us! I had to wait through 3 foot surgeries (I could barely walk from plantar fascitis in both feet.)
The CBEFM says High at Day 9 of my cycle (which seems a bit early, but I'll believe it), so it's finally time !!!
Guess we'll find out if this is going to be easy or hard in the months to come . . .
Just had to share!
Re: Here we go . . . !
Good luck to you!
DH and I are in a similar situation, agewise. I'm 39 and he's 40. We've been married for 2.5 years, but this is just our second cycle TTC.
Are you charting in addition to using the CBEFM? If so, does your chart indicate fertility as well?
Thanks!
No, I'm not charting. I tend to get obsessed, so I wanted to try with just the monitor.
I certainly understand that. I'm a little obsessed right now, actually!
I have plantar fascitis and I am avoiding the surgery. I had it years ago in my other foot and did have the surgery and the recovery time was worse than the plantar fascitis!
Good Luck!
The monitor worked for me! But I was also charting to keep track of things. I wish you lots of luck and hope to see you soon at Pg After 35
Fantastic! Wishing you the best of luck.
Me (just turned 38) and my DH (45) were married in September and this is our 3rd month TTC #1 for both. I am sidelined right now with a cyst but hopefully will be back in the saddle soon.
Hope your stay on this board is a short one.
PS - hope your feet feel better soon
Good luck to you! ?
Glad you're joining us in this crazy ttc game!?
Give it six months and then go to an RE. Not to scare you, but having a "high" indication early in your cycle could be an indication of decreased ovarian reserve...at least, that's what happened to me (I'm 37). The CBEFM was the whole reason I realized something was wrong.
I hope that you get PG right away and don't need my advice :-)
Thanks, everyone! I am so glad I have this board to read.
MSN- Did you get the "high" readings as early or earlier than Day 9? (I'm pretty regularly a 28-day cycle.) Did you ovulate early also or just get several high readings before the peak reading? The CBEFM site says you could get as many as 5 high readings before the peak readings.
I was getting high/peak readings before day 10, sometimes as early as day 6. Ultimately the CBEFM didn't matter because my tubes were blocked, and now I'm not responding well to the IVF meds. Remember, too, that if you ovulate early, your lining is probably not thick enough to sustain pregnancy. I've read that B6 can help with this.
Anyway, I hope things work out for you and that you have no problems at all, but definitely get to an RE if you're not PG in 6 months of consistent CBEFM use.
