We have them at the hospital I will be delivering at as well as BRU by me.
DH parked in one at the hospital when we went in for our initial blood test to verify the pregnancy after I POAS about 10 times at home. He said it would be good luck. lol. I guess it worked.
He likes to use those spaces, I could really care less. I'm sure the larger I get though, the more inclined I'll be!
Me neither. But I am offended by the "family parking" at Ikea. Just because we don't have a mini van full of screaming children doesn't mean DH and I aren't a family.
I used to see the expectant mom spaces at Target and JCPenney - but sadly they are gone now. Ingle (a grocery store here) has a mother with small children space, but that's about it.

W(hy)TF do there need to be specific parking spots for "families"?? Does the sign have a definition of what a family constitutes? Otherwise almost anything could count. I get handicapped and expectant mother spots, but this is getting a little ridiculous.

Ah. Yes, every time I went to Babies R' Us for a shower gift I kind of got the hives. Very overwhelming. Especially when I was TTC. I wish there had been a "people without babies" parking space so I could have made a quick getaway.
I wonder if it will have the same effect on me now that I'm pregnant.

haha. My DH said that since most everyone at BRU is expecting or has a kid there should be special parking for those that don't. :-)
Our BRU does not have special spots for expecting/new moms. I have yet to see them.

My church offers parking for "families with young children" and I LOVE those spots. They make life so much easier getting to and from the car. To have to lug a baby, a diaper bag, occasionally a stroller, and anything else we might have (Bibles, etc) across the parking lot really is a lot of work. It's just a nice gesture to have parking for 'families'.
The only place around here with them is BRU. Every time we go DH tries to convince me to let him park there, but I won't let him. I can walk the extra five feet, even if I am an expectant mother. Now, in five months, that might be different.?

Re: I've never even seen a "pregnant woman" parking space
We dont have those spaces either.
We do have the spaces for new moms though and you do need a special tag for those spaces.
I've only seen them at BRU. And 1 at 2 of the 6 main entrances to the mall!

Interesting.. I have never heard of special tags for those spots.
BRU = Babies R Us
I've never seen stork/family/pg parking either. (well, aside from Ikea)
