So this cold winter weather is REALLY drying my skin out. Right now I use the Vaseline Intensive care stuff but I don't think it's strong enough. Please recommend your favorite lotion (especially for dry skin). Thanks
That is what I was going to reco... Avon also has a really good itensive lotion it is colored just like the vaseline but I can't think of the exact name. (the bottle is blue and white, it is not Skin so soft)
I have tried tons of different lotions because my skin is really, really dry. I actually like Bath and Body Works the best. I used the body butter (very very thick) on my feet every day, and I use the body cream everywhere else. The lotion is not strong enough, but the body cream is awesome. It lasts a whole day and the bonus is that it smells good!
I've tried the Avon and the Eucerin and I don't think either of them are strong enough for me. I don't like the feel of the Cetaphil, although I use that on DS per his pedi's recommendation.
I prefer brands that don't contain mineral oil. For me, mineral oil blocks the lotion actually absorbing into my body. I like Burts Bees and Arbonne best. A little pricier, but does the trick and moisturizes all day.
I use Cetaphil, mostly for my face moisturizer, but it also works really well on my hands.
My MIL used mine when we visited her last and she went out and bought her own because she said it was the only thing that kept her skin moisturized all day without needing to re-apply.
I like the Jergen's lotions. I use the Aloe one as an every day lotion. My pedi had reco'd it to me when I was a kid for my eczema. It was called ALoe & Lanolin at the time. Then there was one that was Vit E & Lanolin, now it is just one of them, I can't remember which. I have also used the ultra healing lotion when my skin was very very dry and liked that, but don't use it often.
Anyway, they are lighter so I like them and have a very mild scent which I don't smell after it is applied.
Re: NBR - recommend your fav lotion
DH has horribly dry skin that cracks and bleeds. It's disgusting. Anyway, he really likes the Neutrogena lotions. He says they work well.
I hate lotion so I don't have any recs for you.
