Do you get any routine u/s after big u/s?

I know a lot of people will have to have follow up u/s to their big u/s, (which really sucks because it's not usually for a happy reason, I'm so sorry!), but how many of you will get another routine u/s before your EDD? My OBs office always does them at 36 weeks to check the size of the baby, but my last OB didn't do this. I'm pleasantly surprised!

I think mine does it again around 36 weeks like you said to check size and position! I love her!

Mine only does one at 20 weeks. The only reason I've had one is because I had to go to the ER. If nothing is wrong, I won't have another.

did you change insurance? My insurance states only 1 at 8 weeks and one at 20 weeks. Unless there is a medical reason to have another. So I wont get another and the baby was is a funny postion with his/her legs crossed so they could not determine sex

My ob office routinely does one very early to date, one around 20 weeks, and one later (maybe 36 weeks?) to check size and position.

My insurance didn't really want to pay for the first one (although they may be paying now), but they will cover the other two.

Mine only does one at 18 weeks unless there's a reason to do another one.

Hmmm... I don't know! I don't think that we'll get another level II u/s. But my doctor's office has a little level I machine that she'll probably use around week 36 (and if she doesn't, I'll ask her to).

Mine does one at around 16-18 weeks then another at 28 weeks.

Nope. My OB said no more ultrasounds unless something comes up that warrants once.

I get one at 32 weeks because I have big babies and they are concerned. I also had a chorionic hematoma that they want to follow up with. My DR didn't think they needed it for the c/h but she was glad the maternal fetal specialist asked for it because of the size of my older two kids.

I will have two u/s in one day....Feb. 11th I have a routine appt in the morning that my dr will go an u/s and in the afternoon we have our big u/s at the hospital that will tell us gender. That will be a very good day!!!

I don't know b/c last pregnancy I had them all the time due to GD.

This time I have already had 5 and I have 1 more scheduled. I feel like I already know what she looks like. lol

I have routine growth u/s because of poor maternal weight gain (I get really sick). Those usually start around 29wks. Depending on my BP, I also have routine BPPs done.

My OB offered me a free gender scan next month though since they couldn't tell at my Level II scan at 20wks. I was on the fence about it (my mother is being a twat about the baby being a boy), so I'll think about it and decide by next month.

I might wait until the growth scans start or I might do the free gender scan and just not tell my mother!

I had 3 before my big U/S, so total so far four...and have a growth u/s scheduled for my next appointment.

Generally speaking, my OB only does the big one at 20 weeks.

We had to have a follow up at 24 weeks because they couldn't get measurements and photos of everything. I will have another one to check the attachment of the cord to the placenta. Depending on how that one goes, I may or may not have another.

I had an initial one at my first appointment at 8 weeks to verify gestational age and then the big u/s at 20 weeks. AFAIK, I won't get another with the doc. We're paying out-of-pocket for a 4-D u/s at 28 weeks.

I think it all depends on your doctor really. I've had an u/s at every appointment. 6w, 9w, 14w, 17w, and i have another one on tuesday that will be 17w 6d. I really don't know what to expect from then on, but i'm enjoying see him/her everytime.... I have no medical conditions and everything has gone fine with bloodtests.. ex: down syndrome... etc. I guess it's just my doctors procedure. GL!
