Insensitive MIL vent.

So, last night at my SIL wedding shower, my MIL says she so glad she's almost done with showers, except for my and my future SIL baby showers.  She pretty much knows what's going on as far as our infertility goes and proceeds to say in front of 6 other female family members, "I hope you hurry up with the baby situation so we can plan another shower and get it out of the way.  Oh and would you mind getting pregnant so you could have the baby in October?  September is a good month for me."

I want to slap her.  Way to add insult to injury!  So sorry DH doesn't have any sperm so it ruins your precious time frame.  WTF!

    Hun I am so sorry; I know they dont mean to be horned demons but take this: Saturday we got a puppy (this makes 5 dogs) and she said infront our family (they were about 5 people there) and a few neighbors "So is this all you plan to give me? Puppies aren't grandkids".

    So I feel your pain Sad

    That was flat out nasty. I hope (once you have calmed down) that you have a little talk with her about this. Ugh!

    Wow is she related to my sister.  My sister, who knows all about our IF, proceded to tell me at Christmas, in front of about 20 people, "if you don't have a baby by next Christmas I am going to be pi$$ed."   Oh sorry sis if I had know you felt so strong about the situaation I would have had a baby long ago.  I just thought I would go through the pain of IF treatments just for something fun to do.  I can't believe how cold- hearted people can be sometimes.  Sorry your MIL is such an insensitive b!tch.

    That really sucks and I'm so sorry that was said. Totally uncalled for. I tend to deal with the samething but from my own mother. It's so hard to keep composure when things like that are said.  I don't tell her anything anymore. MIL on the other hand is surprsingly supportive. Hugs!

    Yeah I've heard "just don't get pregnant so that you have an August baby!"  (All 4 of our nieces have birthdays the same week of August)   Cause you know, I get to choose which month I'm going to get pregnant.  Angry Rude rude rude.
    My big boy is bounding towards 4! Baby brother coming in October!

    Im so sorry. Heaving to deal w/ i/f is stressful enough and then have to listen to stupid comments like that isn't helpful.

    I wish we could all just "decide" when we want to get pg! Geez!
