I was looking into registering (on Amazon) for a Moby wrap, but clearly no stores around me carry them, so I can't try them on.
I'm concerned whether it would fit me -- I'm about a size 18/20. I know there is a lot of fabric there, but I don't know if it would fit correctly and have enough material to tie/wrap correctly.
Does anyone know?
Re: Plus size and Moby wrap?
Got any pics??
For what it's worth, the fabric is pretty stretchy.?
I am 5'1 and wear 4/6 sizes. DD is 3 months, 13 lb. Even when I double knot it, there is still about 15 or 16 inches hanging down on both sides (I measured...). ?
So basically I think that it could fit anyone. With the stretchiness factor and the extra fabric, I think it's made to accomodate many different body types.
?
Hmm ... well, I will say it's not my most favorite fabric, but who cares if it's faded a bit? Let me check with DH and get back to you?
I am not all that happy with mine. The first time I tried it on, it was great! It fit really well. Then DS peed through his diaper so I had to wash it. I followed the directions and it shrunk A LOT! Before there was more than a foot on each side. After I had to stretch it a bunch and there was still on 3-4 inches after being tied. And no, I didn't gain weight:) This was all in one day.
I'm a size 10 with big boobs and I'm 5'9" so that may have something to do with it. I would recommend air drying maybe.
I am a 22, and I love my Moby. I tie it in the back instead of the front, but I have washed it probably 10x and never had a problem with it not fitting. Another option if you're worried about it would be to buy a loveyduds on etsy, and ask her to make it longer. I think that hers are a yard shorter than an actual moby already, so maybe ask her to add 2 yards? Plus, I think hers are soo much cuter than an actual moby. I would guess that if you got one with a yard longer than the moby, you could tie it in the front no problem.
(It doesn't make a difference functionally if its tied in the front or the back, but it can be a little uncomfortable to sit with it tied in the back. I usually just pull the knot up or down though, and it solves the problem.)
