Teeth Grinding and Crib Chewing!!!!

Oh my god it is like nails of a freaking chalk board! Colton has started doing this in the last day or so. I try and distract him and everything but he goes back to it :/

The kid has 9 teeth. Yes 9 teeth. He also has DESTROYED his crib with the crib chewing. It is so bad that I told DH that he is eventuly going to chew his way out of his crib! Of course our model does not fit the crib guards. I need an all natural remedy to put on the wood to make it taste bad!

Re: Teeth Grinding and Crib Chewing!!!!

  • My son did the same thing.  I hate the noise of the grinding.  it hurts to just listen to.

Our crib wouldnt fit guards either.  Good thing is that it eventually stopped.  Now, one of the twins will get his crib though.  Everyone asks who will get that one (we ordered an identical one for the other twin).  I tell them all that the twin who causes me to have a C-section gets the chewed up crib.  The other gets the brand new one ;)

  • Have you tried the gaurd rails that STICK on to any crib rail? I know BRU has them!
  • the problem is that our crib has a curve on the side and the sticky stuff won't work on it..of course that is the area he loves to chew!

well at least dh is handy and can fix it once this lovely phase is over.

  • Ugh, I've been there.  And my DD's crib is black... it was a little unsettling trying to swipe the black paint chips out of her mouth - Yuck!  I found these and they were the solution for our "gnaw-ty" girl (excuse the bad pun, I couldn't resist!), hopefully they might help you out too Smile

  • thanks! yeah it is unsettling wiping his mouth off covered in expresso stain. seriously is the crib that tasty? I keep teething toys in the crib but why would he want to chew on those??

I also think the problem is that the side part..that he loves to chew is right by the door, he loves to stand and it is the perfect height with his mouth...all in all a bad combination.

  • Don't have any advice. One of my DS is doing the teeth grinding and it is AWFUL.  They haven't started crib chewing yet, and I hope it stays that way.
