Rude Guy at Work

So I travel around to different offices in our area.  I was at one today that I haven't been at since before the holidays.  There was a man there that I haven't seen in a while.  And he said to me: "Looks like someone packed on some holiday pounds."  It was 4:00 and by that time of the day I am really tired.  And didn't think before I responded "I'm pg with twins and really really bloated.  It was great seeing you.  Have a good night."  Who says things like that?????? He was at a loss for words and in a way I feel bad for making him feel like such an idiot but I was just annoyed.

    I had a similar experience at work, after I announced one of my co-workers said "I thought you were getting fat".  One thing I have a learned is people do not have a "filter" when it comes time to pregnancy they just say what they want so RUDE!  I am glad he felt bad!

    I agree.  I wouldnt feel guilty at all!  What goes through a guy's head before saying something like that.  He owes you an apology.

    I wouldn't feel the least bit guilty about what you said!  What if you weren't pregnant? Does he go around commenting on other people's weight?  What an asshat.   I say good for you for making him feel like an idiot, he's the one that put himself in that position.

    I think your response was perfect and put him in his place.  There's really no need for him to comment on anyone's weight, pregnant or not.
