Traveling, sleeping arrangements for 2 year olds

If you've traveled with toddlers, where do they sleep? Last year we rented PIPs from Babysaway for our trip, and I was thinking of doing hat this year, but they are right on the verge of not fitting in them. They still sleep in them at their grandparents every now and then, but they have gotten out on at least occassion. At home, they still sleep in their cribs. We could put them in a twin bed together or on the pullout together, but I just don't think they'll sleep well, not having slept in a bed before. Not sure what to do.

  • My girls are not quite two - they still use PNPs for travel (actually, Evelyn still naps in one).  I think I would try PNPs again and if that doesn't work, try a mattress on the floor.

  • When we travelled this summer and stayed in hotel rooms, the girls shared the other queen bed in our room.  It worked out fine...some nights they were a little chatty, but really didn't have any problems getting to sleep.  We did bring bedrails with us just in case.  When we stayed at my best friends house, they shared the double bed in her guest bedroom.  They were a bit harder to get to sleep since they had their "own" room and kept getting out of bed, but if we sat in the room with them for about 15 minutes or so, they would drift off to sleep.
