  • I have used the instead cup before, it is alot like the diva cup, you can get them at CVS. It wasn't that bad at all. I didn't mind it one bit and I wasn't weirded out by it.
  • Here it is, I don't think I would like the diva cup though.

  • My friend had to use this when she was living/volunteering in a developing country without access to tampons and such. I have not, however, asked her how she liked it. I assume she switched back when she got home. :)

  • there was a huge uproar about this on the Married Life board once about this.   I agree with just sticking to the tampons :)
  • Yep...I have a friend in Kansas who uses something like this every month.  She loves it...tried to get me to use one to.  Um, no thanks.  But like a PP, she found out about it while teaching ESL in Brazil and Peru...no easy access to tampons and the like!
  • It's been around for a looooong time. I've used the Instead and I actually prefer it.

  • It doesn't strike me as any more gross than everyones nasty pads and tampon applicators sitting in a landfill for the next bazillion years.

I use something similar - it's really not as messy and complicated as it sounds - promise.

ETA: Also not any more gross than cloth diapering - you're cleaning and resusing a product to contain bodily waste.  And both products save a whole mess of nasty crap from sitting in a landfill for the the rest of time, save a decent amount of money over time, and keep some weirdo absorbency chemicals away from people's bodies.
