DH got laid off today

A company wide communication went out yesterday that they would be restructuring and cutting 10% of the workforce (about 500 people) over the next week. So, he went in to work this morning knowing this might happen.

Doesn't make it easier especially when you have a 21 month old and are 34 weeks pregnant.

I just keep telling myself it could be a lot worse. I have my family. I have a job. We have health insurance. We have a roof over our heads. And we have food on the table. It sucks but it could be a lot worse. Things are going to be tight, but it could be a lot worse. I'm just going to keep saying. It could be a lot worse. Okay, I'll stop now.

That stinks. I'm near boston too. And DH got a video message from the CEO yesterday. Luckily they're not doing any layoffs unless necessary for other reasons. Where does/did your DH work? Will he get severance?

Sorry. That sucks. He is not alone. My friend came by today, she was laid off yesterday. She is the main bread winner. They can't afford their house on her DH's income.

My DH got laid off when I was on complete bedrest at 36 weeks PG. I lost my job on maternity leave.....we both eventually found new jobs. It worked out. I just went throught the threat of layoff again this week when my company laid off 400 people, but I made the cut this time and still have a job. It is so difficult right now everywhere. I hope all goes well with you guys! Good luck and stay positive.
