When I was pregnant I drank water constantly (it was pretty easy sitting there on my butt), but since having Ethan, I am constantly moving around, going places, etc., and I always forget to bring water with me or have it on hand. ? And I am always dehydrated. ?
I know I"m supposed to drink something like 1 liter for every 40lbs of body weight (that is SO much water for me), but I barely get those 8 glasses in every day. ?
If you're really good at always getting enough water, tell me how you do it!?
Re: HOW do you drink enough water every day?
I don't. Which is sad because I work from home and DS goes to daycare FT, so I'm really just sitting at a desk all day.
I'm going to go get some water right now, while I'm thinking about it.

I always have a full glass around the house with me. I like to add slices of lime to mine, to make it taste "better." I also journal my food (since i gained a few back...) and check them off on the list to make sure I get enough in a day.
I am not as good at it when we're out and about. I try to fill my Nalgene before we go anywhere in the car.
It's a work in progress for me.

thanks, ladies! I partly expected to get flamed for asking such a simple question (like, "um, drink more water, dumbass), but apparently I'm not the only one who has trouble with this! ?
I'll try the straw thing. ?I"m trying to stop drinking bottled water, but it is so much more convenient to grab a bottle than it is to deal w/ the Britta filter and the re-usable aluminum bottles (says the laziest girl in the universe). ??
I just keep a glass out all day and refill it every now and then. ?I keep bottled water just for the car. ?I have no idea how much I really drink. ?I think sometimes I'll get too busy to drink water during the day, but right before bed I'll suddenly get insanely thirsty and down 3 glasses of water in a matter of minutes. ?Of course, then I have to wake up to pee in the middle of the night.
Also, the water content of the food you eat counts toward the amount you need, and that's more than you might think. ?I'm a dork and watch Food Detectives on Food Network. ?There was an episode where they tested the water content of typical meals, and it was actually a lot of water.?
?Why don't you just refill the bottles with tap water? What's this obsession with Britta? OK not everywhere has wonderful tap water but I found several places in the US had wonderful tap water. and its flourodated in most places which is much better for you.
I buy bottled water for travel and reuse the bottles for tap water. I have a 500ml on my desk all the time and make my way through it (pouring into a glass not swigging it so I can keep reusing it). I keep 2L bottles for the dinner table. The 3 of us go through 2L and more at dinner.
