Nope, hi I'm more than just "a bit" on the large size... I'm a size 20. It's making me stress too. I'm sooo worried about miscarrying, but I'm the worrying type. My mom had seven babies and she was always plump, so I hope I've inherited her good birthing genes.... How's it going for you? How far along?
Me I had been working out routinely before finding out I was pregnant. I had lost about 30 pounds when I found out. I'm in a size 16 now. I plan on still working out through the pregnancy, although I have stopped for right now since I had some spotting on Monday and the Dr told me to take it easy. Trust me- you're not the only one out there!
you are absolutely not the only one.. I'm plus size.. but that seems to be changing with this awful m/s... jk... I'd have to lose more than the 20 lbs I've lost so far to actually be less than 'obese' on that bmi chart.

Thanks!! I'm glad to know I'm not alone. I know this is a silly thing to worry about, but I'm a bit upset because I don't think I will ever look preggo. I have this fear that I will just keep getting bigger and look super fat when I go in to deliver. Yikes!
Hi Ladies - I'm on the plus side..I had started working out and had lost about 10 lbs before I got my BFP. Now I'm too tired. Hopefully I will be able to start walking a mile or so again soon. I have my first drs. appt tomorrow, and I am a little nervous.

I was a size 18 pre-pg. I am also a little worried about this pregnancy. This is my 2nd & with my DS I was a size 7 and started showing at about 15 weeks.
Right here! And I know what you mean about worrying. I have some of the stupidest things that I think about. One of them being: stretch marks. I already have some from being overweight and now I all I can think about is how my skin might burst open from all the stretching when I get even more pregnant than I am now. Lol and Yikes!!!
I'm a size 16. With my first I was a size 12 (I think, it's hard to remember that far back). I haven't seen the midwife yet but since all I'm craving are vegetables right now, maybe I won't gain more than I should.
I felt the same way most of you did in the first part of my pregnancy. Just like with anything else (ie smoking and drinking before your bfp) you can't change the weight you started this journey out with. Us big girls just have to be more careful about not giving into those late night ice cream cravings. To protect your little one just try not to pack on too much extra weight. The only weight related pregnancy problem i've had is a slightly elevated bp and more severe rlp (because i carried most of my weight in my tummy already). And don't worry about not showing it will all even out and soon people will be asking if you're sure your not having twins. Just remember stressing about your weight can be worse on the baby than your actual weight. happy and healthy 9 mos to all!
I'm in the plus size range too. My doc wasn't stressed about my weight, so I'm not either. I will stress about it once I have the baby and try to lose some weight then.

*raises hand* I'm size 18/20 in most stuff and I have to admit its a little tight to fit. I have been concerned this could cause complications, so I'm hoping all goes okay. I got the all clear for some light aerobics exercise at my appt Monday so I am hoping that will help me at least not gain too much. I packed on 30 lbs just in the latter half of last year between my wedding, the holidays, etc so I am really wishing I had been more careful.
I am a size 16. I was a 18 when I started out with my daughter 5 years ago. I had an ok pregnancy with her. Finding maternity clothes wasn't fun but things have really improved since then!
me too! I was really focused on working out a couple weeks ago when we found out and told myself I was going to be super healthy all through the pregnancy, but the morning sickness has squashed my workout plan. Haven't been for a walk in about 6 days.
Re: any "plus" size mamas to be?
I am. I actually lost 100 lbs in the past two years but put 30 back on before my BFP.
