So DH and I decided to bite the bullet and booked our trip to Cancun for the first week of March...with the babies. I've traveled by plane with them before (by myself) for Christmas, but that was a little different because I was going home and didn't need to worry about their sleeping arrangements or packing formula, diapers, etc...because it was all there. They'll be 6 months old when we go.
So does anyone have any tips? Which stroller should I bring? I'm thinking instead of the snapNgo I would bring my two umbrella strollers and then just check their car seats....I think packing them into their car seats every day ti walk around outside will be too hot for them. Any must-haves for the beach/pool?
I currently use ready to feed formula....I'm thinking using powder might be less bulky (I don't think I want to try and buy the formula there...I just don't trust it adn don't want to be in a bind if I can't find what they're used to). HOw long does a can of powder formula last you?
Any other advice or logistical tips would be very helpful!
For those who have gotten back into a bathing suit since having twins....where'd you find one that fit nicely? This is the part I'm REALLY not looking forward to =/
Re: need travel tips/advice
We went to Hawaii with our twins at 8mo. We gate checked their carseats and Graco duoglider stroller. It was nice when we went to baggage because the car seats just snapped into the stroller, and they could sleep in their carseats in the stroller as we walked them around the resort or town. It also had the shades that could be pulled down for the sun. We brought the powder formula, big cans of it. You will most likely have to pay 50.00 for the extra suitcase you fill with diapers, wipes, babyfood, and formula. We bought diapers there, but you still need to pack a lot to get you there. I agree with bottled water ONLY!!!! Don't even let them eat fruit that has been washed in the water there. Just bring all your own babyfood.
Make sure to bring Baby Bjorns, they are a great way to hold the babies on the plane so they can sleep.
Victoriassecret.com has great bathing suits that have a built in tummy-suck-in pannel.
Bring gobs of sunscreen and big brimmed hats and sunglasses for the babies.
Oh and my favorite thing I brought, is this:
They both had a sunshades. I also got these longsleeve bathing suits from snapfish.com they were awesome, so they didn't get sunburnt!
I am a travel agent, so let me know if you have any other traveling with babies questions!
