Shopping carts and DS

DS will be 4 months old tomorrow. When can he start to sit in shopping carts while I shop?

    My son is just now able to sit in a shopping cart. Even then it is only the Wal-Mart shopping carts because other stores (Target) are too deep and he falls sideways a lot.

    We have a cart cover and DD has been sitting well for 2 months, but I only just recently started putting her in the cart. She still seems so small. Luckily, she's been in the infant seat until last week, so I just carried her in that or the Bjorn. I would definitely use a cover regardless, but I would think it would be a bit before you could start putting him in the cart.

    Thanks. We have a shopping cart cover. I figured it would be a while before he woudl be able to sit in it, I was just wondering .

    We started to put him in around 5 months.  I used to just put my purse or diaper bag on one side of him to help prop him up.
