What Did You Do With My Baby???

My girl has had a big change in attitude in just a matter of days. Is this a phase--is it normal at this age--or what??? I just can't believe the change.

She's 6 months old, born 8 weeks early. So far, she's been hitting all of her actual age milestones.

For instance, she has been eating solids for about 2 months now. As of a couple of days ago, she's stopped cooperating with me at meal time. Wants nothing to do with solid food, even her "greatest hits." Actually, now that I think about it, she has not been too keen on the bottle, either. I'd say her consumption has gone down by about 10 oz./day. She DOES like to try to feed herself, but of course that is totally messy and doesn't get anywhere. Is she trying to assert her independence?

Also, she has started squealing. All. The. Time. It gets worse as the day goes on. She just squeals, no matter if she's sitting in my lap, "standing" in my lap, playing by herself, in her Bumbo, bouncy seat, etc. It's not a panful squeal--she's trying to "talk" in her own little way.

A mitigating factor is that she has become constipated for the first time a few days ago. But I think that is resolved.

What happened to my baby? Will it end? When will I get my sweet girl back???

Haha, the squeeling comes and goes!  My DS started squeeling like crazy for like a week I think it was just the fun of realizing he could do it and then just wouldn't stop.  He still goes through phases of remembering he can squeel and will squeel again for a couple days straight.  Is your little one teething?  If she is teething she may be less interested in food and bottles.  Or she may be just too interested in exploring new things at the moment to want to spend so much time eating.  Don't worry she'll go back to "normal" and then back off of "normal" several times, she's just being a baby and they like to mix things up a bit
