Nbr: In-law's house, WWYD?

Both of DH's sisters made plans to remodel parts of IL's house while they are gone a on vacation (but they know about the remodel and are paying for it).  They left Sunday and will be home next week Thursday/Friday. DH has been gone for 3-4 days on a business trip and got to his parents place today and NOTHING has been touched.  SIL's were suppose to move the knicks-knacks, curtains, etc. Meanwhile, my brother (who is getting paid to help) is out there scraping wallpaper on his one day off.  DH has his own stuff to do and this is his sister's project.  He called them both up and chewed them out...both had pathetic excuses as to why they've done nothing so far.  However next week, when they are way behind, they'll be calling everyone (including me) to help.  Um, no.

I got all 4 wisdom teeth pulled last week and planned this time to recover, relax, do some cleaning and start Christmas decorating as it takes me forever!  Plus, both DS and DD#2 are sick and I wouldn't have a sitter anyway. NO one mentioned this remodel project to me, heck I didn't even know IL's were going on a 12 day vacation!  They tell me nothing.  While I'd hate for IL's to come home to a mess (which they will at this rate), that is both SIL's fault.  This was their plan and despite the people helping out, they'll take all the credit. 

DH thinks I should help out (how?), I say let SIL's deal with it.  They're grown adults and dropped the ball.  They took on too much, slacked, and when the time comes, they won't ask me to help, they'll say I have to (which will result in an automatic NO).

Unfortunately they have you in an ugly situation- if you do help, they'll take all the credit and dump way too much on them.If you don;t they'll "itch and oan"  to EVERYONE that you refused... blah blah.  I personally wouldn't- with 3 kids and recovery from the teeth.  At best I would offer to brimg them lunch on the days they are there.
