Stranger anxiety common at 6 months?

Actually my DD has had stranger anxiety since she was like 3 months old. Yesterday was a nightmare at my grandma's. Approx. 30 people in a small house scared the crap out of her. She cried anytime someone held her besides her dad and I.

When does this get better?

We are still waiting.  If anything, it has gotten more intense for us.  (

It will be a while before she no longer fears strangers.  It's actually a very good thing, it shows that she knows and trusts those who care for her!  I've heard it can last over until at least 12 months.

yup, I was just reading that the anxiety can either peak or start to decrease around 6-8 months. Really helpful guideline, huh?
