So MIL decided that she didn't want to cook this year. ?I offered but she insisted that I have too much going on and that we'd eat out for Thanksgiving. ?We did it a few years ago an DH and I hated it (Thanksgiving should be at home...traditions anyone?) ?Plus, I really wanted DD's first Thanksgiving to be at home?surrounded?by family. Anyway, MIL went ahead with her plan. ?When we got there the entire waiting area was packed. ?I mean Cheesecake Factory on a?Friday?night if they were giving away free dessert packed. As it turned out, the restaurant didn't anticipate that people would hang out for so long after finishing their meals. ?All the previous customers had eaten their dinners, paid their bills, and just sat around talking with their families. By the time we arrived, even with our reservation, there was like a one hour wait. ?MIL started harassing the poor hostess until she was able to find us a table. ?Unfortunately, it was a little booth in the bar! ?So we all crammed into a teeny tiny booth and ate our turkey dinners elbow-to-elbow in a bar! ?I was sure to get pictures of her and DH with the bar in the back. ?I'm sure she'll appreciate it when she's older. ?As for next year, I already told DH we are going to my Mom's house for a home cooked turkey dinner in a dining room.

?Happy First Thanksgiving, DD! ?
