Does anyone know anything about PKU

My best friends little girl's heel prick came back positive so they have to go for more testing.  Does anyone know if there are false positives with this test or is it pretty conclusive?

    The PKU tests for many different things, do you know what the baby tested positive for? Sometimes there can be false positives if the test wasn't done at the ideal time (over 24 hours old with at least 6 feedings, etc). GL to her, hopefully, it's nothing too serious!

    My son's initial test came back positive - he was retested and it was fine - I remember when this happened a lot of nesties told me the same thing happened to them - so it seems to have a high false positive rate.

    if a baby has intolerance - it would mean a special diet for life basically... not the end of the world- but not something anyone wants to hear when they just had a baby.

    chances are the next test will be fine!!
