Space Saver highchair

Have you ever brought it to a restaurant? If so, would you recommend us doing this? She loves to be in her HC while we eat and would probably really like it at tomorrow's dinner for Thanksgiving. Much better than her being cooped up in the stroller or even having to be shuttled between MH and I as we attempt to eat I would think.

Re: Space Saver highchair

  • Probably a stupid question, but why not use one of the highchairs at the restaurant?

  • I guess I'm not sure if she'll be able to sit perfectly in a restaurant's chair yet. She doesn't sit unsupported yet, she slides to the sides sometimes.
  • If you don't mind lugging it around- I don't see why you can't bring it. It would be pretty nasty to make sure that the straps are secure underneath a restaurant chair.

  • I have never done this.  I personally think it would be a PITA at a restaurant.  I would take 2-3 blankets with me and stuff them around her in a restaurant highchair.  That is what we did with DD at that age when she was still tipsy!  GL!

    Ewwwww, you're right!

  • Too much of a PITA, I wouldn't do it.

I'm not sure if a restaurant highchair will work if she can't sit well yet.  DD sits on her own and we just used a restaurant highchair the other day.  But some restaurant highchairs are better than others and offer a little more support so it would depend on what kind the restaurant has.  There are some I've seen that have practically no back and I wouldn't have been able to use that if DD couldn't sit on her own.

  • we usually keep DS in a stroller in a restaurant. Its not idea but it does the job. We also have the space saver high chair and it would definitely be a  PITA to take to a restaurant I think.
