Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Finger Foods

I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but...

DD loves cheerios, puffs & baby mum mums, but is not such a fan of cubed fruit or veggies.  I think she just finds them too hard to pick up.  I have dusted them with cereal, but they are still pretty sticky.  I give her some after every 'meal', but she'll basically leave them, yet if I put down cheerios, they are all gone within minutes.

Any ideas, or should I just keep offering them, and one day she'll get it??

Re: Finger Foods

  • Keep trying. It took DD a couple weeks to figure out how to pick up the more slippery foods.

  • I keep trying.  I let her try for awhile and then sometimes just put the fruit/veggie on the spoon and feed her that way, just to get them in her.  Last night, we tried a little toast spread with veggie puree and she loved that.  Another grain, but at least it had some veggies on it...

  • Thanks girls!  I'll just keep at it.  At least the dog seems to enjoy the fact that most of the pieces that she does try to pick up end up on the floor!
