I am on the far West side of the state. Right on the Illinois border. About 1 1/2 hours from Indy. Very small town! You have probably never even heard of it. How about you??
My hometown is actually a mile off the stateline of Illinois but Northwest. I live in Lafayette though. My hometown is about 45mins from Lafayettte. Im sure I have never heard of it either:)?
Chelsey-Where in Indiana?
Ziz-What's the name? I am only about 3 miles from Illinois and more Northern. I know exactly where Lafayette is. My DH's grandpa was from there and he still has lots of family there!
I can't say I have heard of it. I live in Dana (home of war journalist Ernie Pyle). It has about 600 people in it. Just a bank, bar, restaurant, post office, and gas station in this town! I love it though and could never live in a big town!
Chelsey-Yes, small towns are the norm here!
I am not near Bloomington...still about a hour away. I went to University of Louisville for undergrad and am now at IUS (thats IU Southeast) for my Masters (Well, I start in January)
I live in Charlestown...We have quite a few "developments" popping up, but still have the old school town square and all the charm that belongs to it

Chelsey-Are you anywhere near Nashville? My DH and I LOVE to go down there for a long weekend and stay in a REALLY nice cabin. It's really relaxing. We get a cabin with a hot tub and pond so I can sit in the hot tub and read and DH can fish!
Well no, there is KY in between us, but its only about 3 hours away. My sister lives there so we go quite often. The Opryland Mall makes the 3 hours drive so worth it!

Chelsey-Actually there is a Nashville, Indiana too. It's close to Bloomington. We actually stay in cabins between Nashville and Bloomington so we can go into Bloomington for dinner. You should check it out! It's a really cute place. Lots of little shops and stuff.
ha! I totally misunderstood! Being originally from Kentucky I just thought you meant TN. Is that also called Brown County? My in laws go there every year for their anniversary! They love it!

Ha! I totally understand the confusion! Yes, it is Brown County. They also have awesome wine! I love the Cranberry Apple wine they make. Staying in a fancy cabin is about as close as I will get to camping. We are in the middle of nowhere in the woods and I am still able to sleep in a nice cozy bed and sit in a hot tub while DH fishes his heart out. It's a good compromise!
agreed! DH is not outdoorsy at all, so I may suggest a girls weekend there with my MIL and do some shopping! I live her to pieces which is great, so I think that would be fun! Thanks for the idea! Kind of sounds a little like Gatlinburg.

I loved going to all the games. I was there when Drew Brees was QB. Good times. I haven't followed Purdue in a while though.
QCinOCt: Ya I used to be huge IU fan but now that Im not there I dont follow it. especially the beaten they got from PU this weekend.
Mainer: Thats crazy! Do you guys stay the whole weekend? We will be at the campus bars (well Harry's) tonight. Everybody thats home for the holidays meet up there. Im so happy I cant drink though because I hate feeling like crap on Thanksgiving day:) ?
We will be there until Sunday. That would be so funny if we ran into each other! All I know is that we are getting a family picture done on Friday, followed by dinner somewhere - so if you see 7 people all dressed the same out on Friday night, that's probably us!
