I can't stop my baby from staring at the TV

He is obsessed!

?

On the plus side, we watch a ton less TV b/c it's no good for him, but I wish he'd just stop looking. ?

?

Anybody else's baby a TV watcher???

Re: I can't stop my baby from staring at the TV

  • Only when certain shows are on. If DH is watching the news or a cowboy movie or something boring like that, then P doesn't even seem to notice it is on. He will come and bring us the remote asking for DORA periodically throughout the day though...lol.
  • Loading the player...
  • Sorry, I guess P isn't technically a "baby" anymore. I didn't realize until too late that you were talking about your youngest...
  • I literally don't watch tv during the day (except naps).  My son (3.5) can watch it but my dd isn't 2 and I've got a no tv til 2 rule.  It'll be really crazy when I feel OK letting her watch it... it'll open a whole new world of getting to briefly check work emails during the day! lol

(the few times dd is up before ds and there is something important on the news, I have her downstairs with me and she barely looks at it...)

  • So turn the TV off :) He he!

I think it is normal. They are fascinated by it. We to keep the TV off until DD went to bed. It is hard though.

  • Yes, I actually caught him straining in his RFing seat to see the DVD.

    Me with my littlest.
  • I know I should turn it off, OL. ?But sometimes I have to let Harry have his Mickey fix, so I can do stuff for the baby, you know?

LOL! ?J does that in his high chair if Harry is watching TV in the other room while J eats-- ha!!?

  • Yes, that's why we stopped watching TV. I used to have it on at all times. Now I don't bother even turning it on until after both kids are in their beds (unless Ethan is watching a cartoon). Ethan could not stop starring at it at 3 months and it really never stopped. He's 3.5 years old now and we could have CNN on and he'd be watching it.... And the same with the baby now.

Must be in the genes because both DH and I love TV....  rather lovED TV :)
