So a few weeks ago the dog wanted to go out at 4 am. Odd, but she was on meds that were making her drink a ton, so I didn't think it was that odd. The next morning, I let the dog out, DS follows, so I walk out to find one of our back gates wide open.
Later that day, I get an email from the HOA sayin there was a breakin at 4:30 am. No forced entry, they stayed on the first floor and just took electronics. Freaky. It was really close to our house, too.
So this morning, I let the dog out, and she's been out for a while when I look out and notice she's on the OTHER side of the fense. I run out and let her back in, and look to see on of the gates wide open. I get an email later reminding residents to keep their security systems on and doors locked because there was another break-in, no forced enty, residents home and they took stuff off the first floor. Police say they are coming in unlocked garage doors.
Our gates are old, and it's hard for me to force them open, so it's not like the wind blew it open. And our yard-to-garage door is in the backyard, so it would make sense that someone would come through one of the side gates and try the back doors first.
Freakin out a little. Hold me!
Re: Kinda freaked re:break ins prob going to be long.
Scary! Make sure all of your doors and windows are locked - good thing you have a dog.
OMG!
I meant to ask you - my SIL's house was broken into a few weeks ago - but her boyfriend heard it and got up and whoever it was got scared off and ran away.
They think it was teenagers? I am not sure.
But anyway, huuuuuuuuuuuuugs. This area is super safe, so the likelihood of it being someone dangerous is slim - more likely is the fact that it is stupid rich kids who are bored (which while annoying and stupid is less scary). Also, the PD is pretty good and they have nothing better to do then follow up on this type of thing.
The gates are super low, so while locks will be good for keeping the pup and kids out, prob not going to keep anyone out (very easy to jump over).
E- It's prob the kids who live next door, then :-) It just skeeves me out thinking about someone wandering around our house while we are all upstairs. I see cops ALL the time driving around, and with multiple reports, I'm sure there hanging around.
Shhhiiiiiiit. DH just came home (wasn't supposed to be home for 3 more hours) and scared the crap out of me!
