how much solid food is your DC getting a day? My DS25 oz of formula a day plus 4 1/2 oz of oatmeal/fruit for breakfast, 4 oz of fruit for lunch and 4 oz veggie for dinner. But I think he's wanting more. How do I know when to give more solids? I think he could probably eat a jar and a half now.
Re: Moms of 8 month olds...
She eats cereal/fruit for breakfast, 4 oz for lunch and 4 oz. for dinner and she also eats bits of whatever we are eating. Like tonight, she gnawed on my pizza crust. For lunch, she also had some of my banana bread. Sometimes, she doesn't get a "jar" just real people food.
Try adding real stuff to his meals. That's the best way to get them on table food.
Some of DDs favs are yogurt, bananas, cheerios, mighty bites, canned peas and carrots, ground meat with rice, falafel, spinach dip, quiche (also remember she's baby #3 so she's already had eggs and tried nuts so her repetoire of food is pretty big)
DD doesn't eat table food yet, but she's on a pretty regular schedule that seems to be working out well for her now.
8am, 12pm, 4pm, 8pm-8 oz bottle of formula (total 32 oz)
10 am-Breakfast (1/4 cup of oatmeal, 1/2 stage 2 container of fruit)
2 pm-Lunch (stage 2 container of fruit or vegetable)
6pm-Dinner (1/4 cup rice cereal, 1/2 stage 2 container of vegetable)
