Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Finger food question..

When did you start and what did you give? She has 2 teeth on the bottom.  I also have mesh feeders...

Not sure what is safe at this age.  Should I just stick with the jar food for now?

Re: Finger food question..

  • babies dont need teeth to chew...their gums are pretty handy.

Anyhow, have you tried puffs, biter bisquits, etc...DD started w puffs and is now on many other things that are either soft and dissolvable or small and chewable. Example, I give her rice on occassion and she loves it.

  • I haven't really done anything but I'm curious about the answers.  The only thing he's gotten is really soft bread to keep him busy while we were eating at Panera.

  • Gerber has a lot of soft finger foods.
  • We started with Gerber Puffs at that age.
  • Thanks I will try those. I have some biter biscuits and puffs but I was not sure if she could have them yet...

    Thanks :)

  • I started with cheerios and I first broke them into quarters and then into halves eventually... it didn't take too long to transition to whole ones.  I also started giving her little bits of cheese, which she really likes.

  • Baby Mum Mum's are great!  They dissolve even faster than the Puffs.  I also would give him mashed banana at that age.
