The eye thing - she had fluid buildup behind her eye and it popped her retina off???  It was putting pressure on all the nerves & everything, so she had dark spots, hazy vision, etc.  Then they fixed that, and it came back.  Fixed again, then it was blood behind her eye.  It just kept going.  If her last surgery hadn't worked, she'd be blind - I don't remember if it was one eye or both.
