Pea-kay

I know you've mentioned before that you guys get formula via WIC (or something similar). Because I was on STD for so long, we actually qualify for Medicaid and WIC (the hospital put thru an application for us). Do you chose your formula or does your pedi? We have our appointment next Wednesday, but I'm just curious to know now. Our girls are weaning off Neosure and onto Similac Advance.

Re: Pea-kay

  • actually, it depends on your state. the boys came home on similac advance, but louisiana gives you enfamil lipil, so that's what they get. maybe call the WIC office and ask, so that you can start them on whatever they'll be getting through WIC.

if the ped wants them on another variety of formula (not the standard "advance" or "lipil") i think WIC will give you that, but the brand is what depends, i think.

    WIC is awesome. :)

  • Thanks!!! I just asked b/c at the grocery store I saw only some of the brands had the WIC sign next to them. Advance doesn't, but the Nestle Goodstart does.

  • In my state your only choice is the Nestle good start. They will substitute if the doctor rights a "prescription" saying that it is medically necessary for the switch.
Newbie to the board hope you don't mind I hopped right in. lol
