Bf moms of 2 or more - when did /how did Aunt Flo return?

I got Aunt Flo about 6 weeks post partum with DS #1 and I was EBF. DS #2 is almost 9mo and I just got my period yesterday. I'm really crampy and the flow is veery heavy (sorry TMI!) yuck! I thought my luck might hold out a little longer and I wouldn't have to deal with this for another few months. I just don't get why it took so long to come back the 2nd time around? I know part of the reason is because now that DS#2 is starting solids, I'm only nursing 4-5 times a day now. What was it like/when did you start getting regular periods (if you were EBF)?

Actually, sucks because I got it at 7.5 months with #1 and I already had 1 with #2, who just turned 4 months.

Both are EBF, but #1 nursed a lot more than #2.

I got it back at 9 mos PP with DD too.  It was super heavy and painful.  Got a little better after a few cycles.  My cycles were long too.

Well, even though I BF #1, I had a lot of trouble so I never EBF and I got AF around 2 or 3 months PP.

#2 is 9m old and no AF yet.  I'm not EBF anymore and have started giving more bottles, but still nothing.

15 mos with DS.  DD  is newborn so not yet.  She nurses way less than her brother though so maybe earlier

My milk was gone completely 3 months pp with DS1, I got on the pill after it was gone and my AF returned after I took my 28 pills.

DS2 - AF returned 5 months pp and killed any little milk I had left by then...

I got my at 11mo PP w/ #2.  It was really heavy when it came back the first month or 2.
